Welcome to another Q&A session where I answer questions from y'all on the internet.
Today's question is:
Sometimes it's not going to stick that great to old vinyl, depending on how old it is. Can we wrap over powder coated or textured bumpers? The answer is yes. Powder coat tends to be a little bit harder to stick to. Uh there are instances where depending on the powder coating and the level of finish most of the time, yeah, we can stick to it. As far as plastic bumpers, most of it uh typically would like to see it outgass or at least uh get all the dressing and everything off the plastic. The plastic bumpers are a little bit more um a little bit more hard to wrap for the long term. The durability is just not there. I would say 50% of the time you can put it on some plastics. It's just it's not really the best idea to do so.
Nick confirmed that they can wrap over powder-coated or textured bumpers, but noted that powder coating is often harder for vinyl to adhere to. Wrapping plastic bumpers for long-term durability is challenging; Nick stated that the durability is "just not there" for long-term application on some plastics, recommending preparation to ensure any dressing is removed and the plastic is allowed to outgas (00:09:09).
